Shenzhen-based commercial service robotics company Pudu Robotics has successfully raised nearly $150 million in a new funding round, pushing its valuation past the $1.5 billion mark. As announced in a company press release, the latest capital injection brings Pudu’s cumulative funding to over $300 million. The substantial raise underscores the capital market’s strong confidence in the commercial viability and global scalability of specialized service robots, even as much of the industry’s hype remains focused on general-purpose humanoids.
Founded by CEO Felix Zhang, Pudu Robotics has established itself as a dominant player in the commercial service sector. The company reported a remarkable 100% year-over-year revenue surge in 2025. While Pudu initially gained prominence with its food delivery robots used in restaurants, its commercial cleaning segment now accounts for over 70% of its total revenue. Furthermore, its industrial delivery robots have seen rapid adoption, with over 4,000 units shipped in just one year since market launch.

Global Expansion and Embodied AI
Pudu plans to strategically deploy the new proceeds to accelerate the development of embodied AI technologies, expand its product portfolio, and scale its manufacturing capacity. The company operates on a “One Brain, Multiple Embodiments” architecture, which allows it to leverage core technologies—such as navigation algorithms and multi-robot scheduling—across a diverse range of form factors, including specialized, semi-humanoid, and humanoid robots.
The funding will also fuel Pudu’s aggressive global market expansion. The company has already shipped over 120,000 units globally, establishing a presence in more than 80 countries and regions. Its robotic solutions have been widely adopted by major international brands, including Carrefour, Walmart, and EDEKA. According to a 2023 Frost & Sullivan report cited by the company, Pudu commands a 23% global market share in commercial service robotics, ranking first worldwide.
Pragmatism Over Hype
Pudu’s success highlights a pragmatic approach to the robotics industry. While many startups are burning through capital attempting to build highly complex, general-purpose humanoid robots, Pudu has achieved a $1.5 billion valuation by focusing on specific, highly monetizable use cases like floor cleaning and industrial logistics. The company’s ability to generate substantial revenue and secure major international clients demonstrates that the most immediate commercial opportunities in robotics lie in solving targeted labor shortages and operational inefficiencies.
“This funding milestone is a powerful validation of Pudu’s industry leadership, product and technological strength, global brand, and commercial infrastructure,” said CEO Felix Zhang. As Pudu continues to push the boundaries of embodied AI, its trajectory suggests that the future of commercial robotics will be defined not just by technological novelty, but by reliable, scalable execution in the real world.
