According to Pandaily’s report on the Doubao PC client, the refreshed application can drive a browser, manipulate on-screen interfaces, run tasks remotely, and connect to a cloud computer environment. A separate account from BigGo Finance describes the same set of capabilities. The reports cite third-party data placing Doubao at 382 million monthly active users, a figure that, if accurate, gives ByteDance one of the largest installed bases from which to test agentic features in the Chinese market.

Why GUI automation matters for Chinese enterprise workflows
The emphasis on GUI operation is significant because it changes what an AI assistant can reach. A chatbot that responds in a text box is limited to the information a user pastes in and the actions a user then takes. A GUI-driving agent can, in principle, complete the loop, opening the application, executing the steps, and returning a result. Pricing structures for the cloud computer feature, the geographic availability of the upgrade, enterprise controls for connectors, and the reliability of GUI automation across long task chains are not addressed in the two accounts.
